THE YARN
The super-soft wool Genevieve has selected for the Leven is locally sourced and spun by a celebrated Aberdeenshire mill. The secret to its luxurious handle is the fact it comes from the ‘first clip’ of the lamb – an initial shear known for its unrivalled softness. Finer and more expensive, it produces a garment of exceptionally high quality without compromising on its authentic Shetland character.

SUSTAINABILITY CREDENTIALS 
Not only is the Leven spun on British soil from British yarn, it’s crafted in a way that minimises waste from start to finish. The Corozo buttons are a completely natural and biodegradable product derived from the Tagua Palm – an amazing tree that grows in the central American rainforest and produces nuts without any need for human harvesting.

Once knitted, the Leven is brushed using the teasel thistle – a time-honoured and completely natural technique for softening yarn. By elongating the fibres, it not only creates a sumptuous hand-feel, but lends the wool a relaxed, felted quality that man-made tools simply cannot match. Lastly, the fully-fashioned, seamless design promises a perfect fit with barely any yarn waste.
